Final Communication: Hurricane Irma

Good morning from a cloudy Hatteras Island. Irma has now been downgraded to a tropical depression. We expect to see only some minor rain today from the remnants of its outer most bands, followed by a sunny week in the 80s – a fantastic fall week ahead!

While we are extremely fortunate to have remained outside Irma’s path, our thoughts and prayers go out to the residents, visitors and emergency teams in Florida, our neighbors in the southeast and the Caribbean. We hope everyone remains safe as the storm abates and wish you a strong and swift recovery in the coming weeks.

This will be our final communication for Irma. We’d like to remind all Island visitors to be mindful of lingering dangerous surf conditions and rip currents with a beach hazards statement in effect, so please be cautious when enjoying the otherwise beautiful beaches this week.

If you haven’t yet booked your fall stay, now is the perfect time with great seasonal deals for every style and budget, including pet-friendly and luxury homes! Come enjoy one of the best seasons of the year before it’s too late. We look forward to seeing you at the beach!
