Congratulations to Nyah Machie, this year’s recipient of the Outer Beaches Realty Community Service Scholarship.

Nyah Machie with Tracy Burns of Outer Beaches Realty

Each year, Outer Beaches recognizes a local graduating high school senior who exemplifies an extraordinary commitment to service. This year’s recipient of the Outer Beaches Realty Community Service Scholarship is Nyah Machie from Avon, NC.

Nyah Machie was chosen to receive the 2019 scholarship because she demonstrated an unmatched determination and drive as a student, family member, employee, and member of the community. Her kind nature and devotion to helping others is such an inspiration and helped lead us to our decision.

Nyah maintained her studies while working at Dillon’s Corner and Fisherman’s Daughter as well as cleaning for OBR. She displayed her dedication to helping others by volunteering at the North Carolina Aquarium in Manteo and the Outer Banks SPCA. Nyah also balanced academics with extra-curricular activities including basketball, softball, soccer, and volleyball. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing at the beach or spending time with her pets.

Nyah plans to attend NC State to pursue a Master of Science in hopes of becoming a veterinarian. She truly has a love for animals, people, and her community. When you meet Nyah, it is clear she has an unstoppable determination to succeed and strives to give back to her community. Congratulations, Nyah!
