Over the past week, we've received an unprecedented amount of phone calls, emails, and messages from upcoming Guests eager to find out what to do in this situation. We can’t thank you enough for your patience while our front line is doing the best we can to assist.
For Guests due to arrive in April, May, and beyond, we can assure you that we will be in touch and ask that you please continue to have patience with our staff. We’re working through a list of our upcoming arrivals and communicating with Guests individually on a case-by-case basis. Meanwhile, we’re following best practices by staying up to date on new information and guidelines from the NC Real Estate Commission, the CDC, the government, and our travel insurance provider.
While this continues to be a rapidly changing event, we don’t want to hinder your future booking plans. For folks interested in vacationing to the Outer Banks, please read our new changes to our rental policy. While Dare County remains closed to visitors at this time, we are offering a travel guarantee for any future bookings. If there is an extension to the current DARE COUNTY mandated ordinance that prevents you from getting onto Hatteras Island and reaching your vacation rental due to the Coronavirus, we'll transfer your reservation to a later time period or refund your money for your stay, less the travel insurance premium that was purchased which cannot be refunded. We do not know when the travel restriction will be lifted, so any refunds or credits will happen following your planned departure.
As for our Team, we’re staying safe as best we can. We’ve enacted firm stay-at-home policies and have limited our in-office workers to essential employees only. We have strict rules at the office in place to limit exposure to each other and to keep the office as clean as possible. Our remote Teams are checking in with Managers daily so we can keep our standard rhythm and routine in place. And we’re adjusting within each Team to maximize efficiency.
Again, thank you for your understanding during this time. As we learn more information, we'll be there to share it with you.
