COMMUNICATION #13 FOR HURRICANE DORIAN
1 PM, Wednesday, September 11, 2019

Hello again and thanks for checking in with Outer Beaches Realty on Hatteras Island. This is Communication #13 for Hurricane Dorian as of Tuesday, September 11th at 1 PM. Currently on Hatteras, it is sunny and 81 degrees with NE winds at 5 mph.

The Villages of Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, and most of Buxton have officially reopened to visitors. South Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras Villages remain closed at this time. Visitors are not yet allowed past the checkpoint at Cape Hatteras Secondary School in Buxton. The Dare County Control Group will meet again on Wednesday afternoon to consider reentry for Frisco and Hatteras Village and will provide an update no later than 6 PM.

For Guests in town or arriving to vacation rentals this week, all vacation rentals have been assessed for storm damage; however, some damages may surface during occupancy. Please contact Outer Beaches Realty to report any discovered damages. During the storm, many pools and spas were exposed to untreated overwash from the Pamlico Sound. Our pool and spa vendors are working diligently to prepare your pool and/or spa for your enjoyment. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Guests who purchased Travel Insurance may be eligible for your full week coverage. Please contact Rental Guardian to inquire and/or place your claim.

For Guests scheduled to arrive next week, please keep your vacation plans in place. There is no need to call in to check on your home’s status or availability. Our Guest Services Team will be in contact with the leaseholder of your party if we need to make new arrangements for you.

Thank you all again for your understanding and overwhelming support while we work through Dorian’s aftermath. We’ll continue to work as hard as we can to get back to normal and please stay tuned for our next storm communication by 1 PM tomorrow. Those dreams of relaxing in that cool September beach weather you have been waiting for all year long are not far off. We’ll see you soon…

...at the beach!
