Communication #2 for Tropical Storm Michael
8 PM, Thursday, October 11, 2018

Greetings from Outer Beaches Realty, Hatteras Island’s highest-rated vacation rental company, where we are currently experiencing cloudy skies and winds around 30-mph.

We are carefully watching Tropical Storm Michael as it rapidly moves northeast over central North Carolina with gusts of up to 50-mph. A Tropical Storm Warning is still in effect for the east coast of North Carolina. We are optimistic that our area will only see rough surf and minimal storm weather from this system. At this time, guests scheduled to arrive this weekend should anticipate no interruptions to your arrival and plan for a fantastic fall week ahead.

Guests currently in OBR homes, if you have not done so already, PLEASE prepare your home for the effects of this storm:
  • We ask that you secure all loose outside items including deck chairs, trash cans, and anything that could be blown around by high winds, and securely lock windows and doors.
  • Be prepared to move cars from low-lying areas such as soundside homes due to potential flooding. We recommend doing this as soon as possible.
  • Anyone renting an oceanfront or soundfront home with an elevator should move the elevator car above ground level.
We will continue to monitor the national weather reports and statements from Dare County Emergency Management as more information develops.

Our next communication is scheduled for Friday, October 12th by 5 PM.

Please continue to follow these updates via e-mail, Facebook, or our website for more information as it becomes available.

Now is the perfect time for a fall stay with great seasonal deals for every style and budget. We also have an amazing early-bird special running until 12/31; 5% off 2019 reservations with many homes participating. Enjoy one of the best seasons of the year before it's too late. We look forward to seeing you soon…
