Cape Hatteras National Seashore got a taste of the wintry weather this month. The Pamlico Sound froze over for the first time in many years. (Photographed February 20, 2015) It was frozen solid as far as the eye could see. Four days later a beautiful snow storm fall on Hatteras Island. Covered the roads, yards, and beaches with up to three inches in some places. (Photographed February 24, 2015) It has been a record breaking February here on the Outer Banks with freezing temperatures and gusting winds.
