Avon is the central village of Hatteras Island located about 30 miles south of Oregon Inlet and about 20 miles north of Hatteras Inlet. Here you will find Food Lion, the Island's only chain grocery store, gift shops, and local restaurants. The Avon Pier is a hot spot for fishing especially with the large Red Drum that flock here often.
